Blog EntryJohnson & Johnson's BOTELYAJun 18, '08 10:48 AM
for everyone

The movie Botelya stars veteran actresses who bring life to a fictional story about three mothers who express their love through gentle touch. Written and directed by Manny Palo, with production design by Manny Morfe, Botelya is a feast for all the senses. It casts some of the country's most seasoned actresses such as Anita Linda, Caridad Sanchez, Boot Anson Roa, Angel Aquino, Alessandra de Rossi, Katrina Halili, and Rosa Rosal in a rare cinematic appearance. Actors included in this movie are Marco Alcaraz, Paolo Paraiso, and newcomer Christian Moses del Rosario.

The story begins with a teenager named JD (Christian Moses) who comes across an old green bottle of Johnson's Baby Oil at a yard sale. The young man tries his best to uncover the story behind the bottle and in the process, discovers startling revelations about his own family history. His pursuit of the truth also brings together two mothers whose lives are linked by their common love for a son.

Through the movie Botelya, viewers will see how different mothers separated by years and divergent social conditions are actually united in being selfless and giving unconditional love for their children. A young mother named Pining (played by Katrina Halili) raises her newborn son on her own while her husband fights valiantly against the Japanese forces. While evacuating their town, she is forced to give up her son to a stranger to ensure his safety. She grows up to be an old woman (played by Caridad Sanchez) who regularly visits the seashore where she last saw her son.

Little did she know that her son was being taken care of Rosing (played by Alessandra de Rossi) who names the young boy as Julio. When he becomes an adult, he is entranced by the beauty of Mameng (Pauleen Luna), the town manghihilot who becomes his wife.

In the latter part of the story, Mameng and Julio bear a child named Beth (Angel Aquino). Her husband Sammy (Paolo Paraiso) decides to work and pursue a better life in Saudi Arabia but he ends up falling in love with another woman. Beth then becomes a single mother to her son, JD.

Botelya
will be shown for free in key cities and municipalities in the Greater Manila Area through a Roving Cinema that will be parked in town plazas and baranggay halls. This cinema-on-wheels is meant to express the core message of the movie: a mother's gentle touch, indeed, gives life and healing.

Produced by Johnson's Baby Oil, this movie aims to promote the company's advocacy of touch therapy or infant massage as a key ingredient in a child's overall development. Through the movie Botelya, J&J hopes to inspire mothers of young children to make touch therapy a regular part of their childcare regimen.

for everyone
I'm freakin tired of our last night's get2geder "date?" at Park Square and Greenbelt. I got home at around 4:00 in the morning and while i'm heavily indulged in my soda pop sleep they called again asking me to report today, 2:00pm (perhaps for an interview). My Mom somehow got into the details providing me the job title, salary, schedule, and HR's landline as well. Honestly, the compensation is really good! Competitive indeed! And i'm so freakin tempted to go!!!

But then some events on my current camp are coming into somewhat tight times and i do feel that this is not the right time for me to move out. It's crazy. It's surreal. But i stand firm on my decision.

Company-wise both of them are really good. Compensation-wise theirs is really competitive (considering the vacancy and my current job). However, money is not everything. Right? Some freaking and stupid reasons for others like "utang na loob" is a big deal for me. I just don't want to leave my camp during these hard times. We are having a lot of problems and workloads at the moment, and it's just for the simple reason na mahal ko ang boss ko, mahal ko ang mga kasama ko, mahal ko ang Johnson & Johnson... kasi masaya ako dito.

So that's it. My decision to stay is final. And perhaps i will be hanging w/ J&J for quite a while.. i guess...

for everyone

Currently, i am employed at Johnson & Johnson (Philippines), Inc. This is my first job and i am so thankful for the opportunity and trust given to me by the management allowing me to grow technical expertise beyond my expectations as a fresh grad. It's been almost a year and at this point i can say that for some reasons (i cannot discuss in public), sooner or later i will have to leave this dynamic company. That's a fact.

I am here sitting at my chair momentarily diversed into thinking. I just got a call (as in kanina lang) from SM City - Dasmariñas saying that they found my contact details sa La Salle Portal and that they have an opening for the position of "**************."

Honestly, i don't know... I'm quite confused right now.. Even before that call, i am thinking of finding another job due to some personal & professional issues. However, as per some consultation, i will not be in a rush. Just enjoy what i have right now and continue to grow.

The Official Mascots of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
Updated:2005-11-11

Like the Five Olympic Rings from which they draw their color and inspiration, Fuwa will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace -- and good wishes from China -- to children all over the world.

Designed to express the playful qualities of five little children who form an intimate circle of friends, Fuwa also embody the natural characteristics of four of China's most popular animals -- the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow -- and the Olympic Flame.

Each of Fuwa has a rhyming two-syllable name -- a traditional way of expressing affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow.

When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say "Welcome to Beijing," offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games.

Fuwa also embody both the landscape and the dreams and aspirations of people from every part of the vast country of China. In their origins and their headpieces, you can see the five elements of nature -- the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky -- all stylistically rendered in ways that represent the deep traditional influences of Chinese folk art and ornamentation.

Spreading Traditional Chinese Good Wishes Wherever They Go

In the ancient culture of China, there is a grand tradition of spreading good wishes through signs and symbols. Each of Fuwa symbolizes a different blessing -- and will honor this tradition by carrying their good wishes to the children of the world. Prosperity, happiness, passion, health and good luck will be spread to every continent as Fuwa carry their invitation to Beijing 2008 to every part of the globe.

At the heart of their mission -- and through all of their work -- Fuwa will seek to unite the world in peace and friendship through the Olympic spirit. Dedicated to helping Beijing 2008 spread its theme of One World, One Dream to every continent, Fuwa reflect the deep desire of the Chinese people to reach out to the world in friendship through the Games -- and to invite every man, woman and child to take part in the great celebration of human solidarity that China will host in the light of the flame in 2008.

In China's traditional culture and art, the fish and water designs are symbols of prosperity and harvest. And so Beibei carries the blessing of prosperity. A fish is also a symbol of surplus in Chinese culture, another measure of a good year and a good life.

The ornamental lines of the water-wave designs are taken from well-known Chinese paintings of the past. Among Fuwa, Beibei is known to be gentle and pure. Strong in water sports, she reflects the blue Olympic ring.

Jingjing makes children smile -- and that's why he brings the blessing of happiness wherever he goes. You can see his joy in the charming naivety of his dancing pose and the lovely wave of his black and white fur. As a national treasure and a protected species, pandas are adored by people everywhere. The lotus designs in Jingjing's headdress, which are inspired by the porcelain paintings of the Song Dynasty (A.D.960-1234), symbolize the lush forest and the harmonious relationship between man and nature. Jingjing was chosen to represent our desire to protect nature's gifts -- and to preserve the beauty of nature for all generations. Jingjing is charmingly naïve and optimistic. He is an athlete noted for strength who represents the black Olympic ring.

In the intimate circle of Fuwa, Huanhuan is the big brother. He is a child of fire, symbolizing the Olympic Flame and the passion of sport -- and passion is the blessing he bestows. Huanhuan stands in the center of Fuwa as the core embodiment of the Olympic spirit. And while he inspires all with the passion to run faster, jump higher and be stronger, he is also open and inviting. Wherever the light of Huanhuan shines, the inviting warmth of Beijing 2008 -- and the wishful blessings of the Chinese people -- can be felt. The fiery designs of his head ornament are drawn from the famed Dunhuang murals -- with just a touch of China's traditional lucky designs. Huanhuan is outgoing and enthusiastic. He excels at all the ball games and represents the red Olympic ring.

Like all antelopes, Yingying is fast and agile and can swiftly cover great stretches of land as he races across the earth. A symbol of the vastness of China's landscape, the antelope carries the blessing of health, the strength of body that comes from harmony with nature. Yingying's flying pose captures the essence of a species unique to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, one of the first animals put under protection in China. The selection of the Tibetan Antelope reflects Beijing commitment to a Green Olympics. His head ornament incorporates several decorative styles from the Qinghai-Tibet and Sinkiang cultures and the ethnic design traditions of Western China. Strong in track and field events, Yingying is a quick-witted and agile boy who represents the yellow Olympic ring.

Every spring and summer, the children of Beijing have flown beautiful kites on the currents of wind that blow through the capital. Among the kite designs, the golden-winged swallow is traditionally one of the most popular. Nini's figure is drawn from this grand tradition of flying designs. Her golden wings symbolize the infinite sky and spread good-luck as a blessing wherever she flies. Swallow is also pronounced "yan" in Chinese, and Yanjing is what Beijing was called as an ancient capital city. Among Fuwa, Nini is as innocent and joyful as a swallow. She is strong in gymnastics and represents the green Olympic ring.

(All for the Sake of Johnson&Johnson continuation...)

20/02/08. What a SICK LEAVE day for me. Honestly.

Jollibee Crew: Good evening, sir may i take your order?
Heavy Furious Bird: Isa ngang B1
JC: Isa pong B1...
<sulat sa papel si JC>
JC: Sir, ano po yung softdrinks nyo?
HFB: Coke Light.
HFB: <smile> ah wala talagang Light...
JC: Opo.
HFB: Sige Sprite na lang...
JC: Ah... Large SARSI po. <ha??????? bangag ka ba ate? >

Bakit Heavy Furious Bird??? Haha!!! Salamat sa mga taga J&J!!! =p

I did it again. Nawala na naman ang cellphone ko. Nice!!!

Supposedly bibili ako ng N95 8GB, kaya lang due to unforseen events na katulad nito, sa tingin ko it is not wise to buy such...

Kaya naman Plan B ako ngayon w/ K950i (effective 14/01/08)... Aus!

BTW, pasend naman ng mga fone numbers nyo as to update my Phonebook. Thanks!

Gerald

CD SCRATCH REPAIR
VERY EASY!!! NO HASSLE!!!

If you want to bring back unreadable and heavily scratched CD’s, here’s the easiest, fastest, cheapest, effective and natural way to remove CD scratches.

1. Prepare the Solution

- Pour in the Ajinomoto MSG and water into an empty plate.
- you'll see that it's just a small amount since this stuff can easily scrape off too much plastic.

*You can add soap into the mixture to easily speed up the polishing, since MSG is water soluble, you can have any variations with it.

***THE MORE WATER, THE MORE FINE FINISH, THE LESS WATER, THE ROUGHER IT GETS.

**for best result: Use less water to scrape off deep scratches, then add more water later to a fine finishing.

2. Start Scraping

- Put the cloth in your thumb and get a small amount of MSG mixture from the plate.
- Using your thumb, scrape away the CD plastic from the center outward then back again...
-You can also do a clockwise and counter-clockwise direction or x-hatch, but do the scraping as fast as you can, till you get a mirror polish.

*the deeper the scratch is, the more pressure and MSG you would need to apply.

3. Wash and Cook your CD

- After polishing, bits of plastics and MSG crystals need to be cleaned, so you'll have to wash your CD with soap and water.
- Then for real! cook your CD in a pan with 1 cup of water for 1 minute for best possible readability.
- Take it out using a fork. Dry it out with a towel, starting from the center outwards.

Blog EntryMe Texting Tenosynovitis K B? Reply ASAP. =pJan 6, '08 1:06 AM
for everyone
UNLIMITED TEXTING IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH!!!

It is now official: too much texting is bad for you.

How come? O well, 2 cases have been diagnosed with the first known case of text-messenger’s thumb called texting tenosynovitis.

This condition, known as texting tenosynovitis, is an inflammation of the tendons in the thumb caused by text messaging. There is only two reported case of this, and a school-aged child in Singapore is the first one. The second is a New Zealand student, she apparently texts 100 messages per day.

However, 100 text messages are no comparison to what we can do here in our country. In fact, each network provider offers unlimited texting, encouraging everyone to text nonstop. So, such disease will not be a surprise as it hits texters here as well.

Just a simple reminder: Text messaging isn’t bad for you, excessive text messaging is a big difference. There is a slight difference between a few messages a day and 100. You could say anything is bad for you if you use it in the context of being done in excess. Lighten up on the text messages, or you’ll get visited by the texting tenosynovitis curse. Now parents have a good reason not to allow their kids to text message.

for everyone

We had our CIP lunchout celebration at Abe Restaurant at Bonifacio Global City (Serendra Circle). With it's "where good friends meet" line/theme, the word Abe is a Kapampangan word meaning friend.

The food was great! Serving Filipino-oriented food (obviously Kapampangan ), the resto is a perfect hangout for "great friends" of "great pocket" . Crispy pata, big fried fish, burong mangga, nilasing na hipon, shakes, tea, ah, eh, and many more to mention (coz i don't know what they are called. hehe! first timer ito!)... what more can i ask for ! Appetizer, main course, and dessert... Personally, i love my dessert Coup Adriatico (ice cream eh!!!)

Our bill is Php 18,900.00 for a crowd of 20. Hmm... Great friends of great pocket indeed... Won't you agree?

By the way i saw Yeng Constantino dining in the place. Hehe!

Bakit? Hindi ba pantay-pantay naman tayong lahat?
Bakit dapat magalit?
Bakit kailangang mapuno ng inggit at kagustuhang makaisa... makaganti?
Bakit kailangang maglihim... magkunwari?
...
Dahil takot tayo.
Dahil pinapayagan natin mangyari ang mga nagyayari.
Dahil 'di tayo makuntento.
Kaya kuntento na tayo sa ganito? O dahil mga duwag tayo?
Takot tayong harapin ang di pa natin nasusubukan.

The Bottom Line

Insider information will help you take the right path today. Rely on what you learn.

In Detail

Someone you deal with on a daily basis has been looking out for your best interests, and will tell you about something you should know today. This insider information will help you avoid merely taking the path of least resistance and will enable you to take a deliberate path. You'll be armed with the facts (which you will soften with your charm), although what you have to tell people might not be well-received. If they can't face the consequences of their actions, that's their problem.

Background :: Ako kasi kapag depress (esp sa work) lagi akong bumibili ng Zagu. So aun.

So ako parang okay. Lam mo yun. Kasusukli lang nyan sa kin from Zagu. Kaya nagbiro na lang ako.

Gerald: "Hindi nga! Seryoso?" sabay smile.
SM Saleslady 1: "Sir opo.

Lam mo yun.

Or you would simply use the bill for another transaction (i.e. pamasahe sa FX) ?
